Wildcats Win! On Sunday, the women’s softball team advanced to the NCAA Softball Super Regionals after shutting out South Carolina, 9-0, at Hillenbrand Stadium in Tucson.

The #2 seed Arizona Wildcats, with a 51-7 record on the season, was the only team to not allow a run in the regional round, which consisted of 64 collegiate teams. In their three matchups, the Wildcats outscored their competition 25-0.

On Sunday, several Wildcats had standout performances, including Mandie Perez who hit a home run and drove in four runs, and Reyna Carranco who added two RBI. Starting pitcher Taylor McQuillin struck out six and did not allow any runs.

This marks the Wildcats’ 28th regional championship, and they will host #15 seed Baylor in the Super Regional round later this week.
