It’s been 10 months since the OdySea in the Desert Aquarium opened off the 101 in Scottsdale, and what an attraction destination it’s turned out to be! In that time, the 200,000 sq. ft. aquarium has attracted thousands of out-of-town visitors, as well as streams of locals eager to keep their kids entertained and having fun!
The OdySea Aquarium is seen as the ultimate destination for a full day of watching sea creatures, especially here in the heart of the desert. From sea turtles to sharks, piranhas to penguins, otters to tropical fish, the OdySea has plenty of visual delights and education experiences for all ages.
There’s also great fun for families who want to walk underwater with the popular SeaTrek helmet diving adventures – see the video here for more insights into this!
Here’s what’s new for Summer 2017 at OdySea:
-
- Save money and have a great time! The OdySea aquarium is offering visitors a reduced ticket price of $25 for admission after 4pm on Fridays and Saturdays in June and July. With that paid ticket, visitors also get a $10 voucher for use at any OdySea in the Desert restaurant or shop, excluding OdySea Treasures gift shop, that same day. On these Fridays and Saturdays, with a few exceptions for private events, the aquarium will stay open until 8PM, giving reduced admission visitors at least 4 hours of exploration within the aquarium.
- The Sharks are coming in July! Get ready for the Summer of Sharks! The aquarium is highlighting its incredible collection of sharks throughout July. There are nearly 10 different species of sharks represented, with about 40 sharks in all. The sharks will be seen in different parts of the museum, even above your head, when you make your way down the underwater escalator inside the aquarium. Visitors will be able to watch the short film on giant sharks, including the whale shark.
- Reduced family passes! Maybe the best OdySea deals are the reduced fees for annual passes. You can buy them only during the summer, but they’re good for the whole year. Check these prices out – One adult, one child annual pass is only $119.20. Visit the aquarium 2-3 times over a few months and you’ve earned what you paid for it! See more at the Annual Passes link at the aquarium’s website.
Don’t forget, you can also save money on visits to OdySea when you buy combined tickets for OdySea and its neighbor Butterfly Wonderland, or OdySea and Lazer/Mirror Maze. Make it a full day out with the kids for different fun in nearby buildings.
