The 16th annual Mother of the Year Luncheon returns this Friday.
Hosted by Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse, this event will celebrate the courageous, strong women who overcome adversity and challenges.
This year’s luncheon honors the 2017 Mother of the Year, who will bravely share her incredible journey throughout her experience with domestic abuse.
Keynote Speaker Donisha Rita-Claire Prendergast, the granddaughter of Bob and Rita Marley, will discuss how she works to empower communities to encourage positive change and end domestic abuse.
A raffle and silent auction will complement the award ceremony honoring community members who have answered the call to end domestic abuse. The Emerge! Clothesline Project will also be on display.
The luncheon kicks off at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 19. Tickets are $75 per individual and the event will be held at the Westin La Paloma Resort.
