Since opening earlier this year, Pitchfork Pantry has made an impressive difference in the Sun Devil community.
The food pantry was started by Sun Devil students concerned about the wellbeing of their peers struggling with food insecurity. Their food pantries on the Tempe and downtown Phoenix campuses directly serve students struggling to put food on their plates, a problem that can have a major impact on their academic performance and success.
Donation drives have been a major source of support for the pantry, with the Sun Devil community stepping up to drop off non-perishable packaged foods and more. With food insecurity and hunger a considerable concern for the large, diverse population of Sun Devils, Pitchfork Pantry wants to help as many people as possible.
That’s where friends and neighbors like you come in. The group is looking to raise $5000 in a new campaign to sustain the food pantries and supply students in need with much-appreciated food and resources.
Supporting this project means the world to the ASU Anti-Hunger Coalition and Pitchfork Pantry, as it makes it possible for these students to continue their meaningful work in an effort to give back.
