VIDEO: Local Organizations Need Donations

Donations are needed for two local organizations that work to help the homeless community.

Camp Bravo is a local, military-style group based in Camp Conklin near the Santa Rita Park in Tucson. They provide shelter and food for over 30 homeless veterans in Southern Arizona. Bravo is most in need of food items such as milk and meat because donations have dwindled over the past few months since the holidays. Camp Bravo helps veterans suffering with drug abuse, PTSD and more find a second chance at life.

They are looking for donations of food, toiletries, water bottles, and gas cards or pre-paid debit cards that help pay for Veterans to go to their appointments.

The Salvation Army is also dealing with shortages. The Salvation Army Hospitality House in Tucson tries to put families in motels when all their beds are full. Both organizations say a little bit of donations can go a long way and make a big difference.

If you’re interested in donating to Bravo Base, you can drop off items at 550 E 19th Street in Tucson or visit their Facebook page:

I am a multimedia journalist and proud graduate from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication. I am originally from Minnesota, and I love learning about my second home, Arizona, and all of it's awesome communities through my contributions to My Local News! When I was a little girl, I created my own "newspaper" for my neighborhood and spent all my time writing, printing and sending each edition to my loyal subscribers (AKA my family and neighbors!). Now, it's a dream come true to be able to write everyday and have a positive impact on communities through my reporting. In my free time, I love to travel, hike, cook and spend time with my family and friends.
