
Haydn’s Symphony No. 45 will take over The Phoenix Symphony on Friday, May 26 and Saturday, May 27.
Enjoy an evening of stunning instrumental music as Tito Munoz closes his third season as Virginia G. Piper Music Director. This program of Franz Joseph Haydn and Gustav Mahler masterworks will open with “Farewell” Symphony. The audience will be delighted by Mahler’s most personal and intimate work, Das Lied von der Erde (The Song of the Earth), which features six songs that address universal themes such as living, parting and salvation. Vocalists Chad Shelton and Margaret Mezzacappa will perform this selection.
The show will start at 7:30 pm both evenings at Symphony Hall, located at 75 N. 2nd Street in downtown Phoenix.
