Uber is continuing to move forward into the future with the launch of a new helicopter service between John F. Kennedy (JFK) and Lower Manhattan.
If you want to fly over the city that never sleeps in incredible fashion, this new service starts on July 9. The ride-share company says customers who choose this option will travel eight minutes from the airport to the city. That same trip by car could take more than an hour on the average day with New York traffic.
Prices per journey will fall between the range of $220 and $225 per passenger, with surge pricing applied as per usual. This new helicopter service serves a route that many visitors and residents alike make everyday, and it includes the helicopter ride and a private car ride to or from the terminal. Passengers will have baggage restrictions of one carry-on bag 40 pounds or less and one personal bag when boarding.
Passengers who wish to use this service will need to be in one of Uber’s two top-tier loyalty levels in order to be eligible for the helicopter ride, but tit’s possible that the program will be expanded if it is successful.
