Baseball aficionados, make a difference to the Tucson Saguaros Baseball Team ahead of their second season!
Fresh off their 2016 championship title, the team is looking for host families for the 2017 season who can provide their home for players from May through August.
The team, established last year, is part of the Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs, an independent professional league headquartered in Houston, with teams in desert mountain regions throughout California, New Mexico, Arizona, southern Colorado, Kansas and West Texas. The league is not affiliated with Major or Minor League Baseball teams, and it plays in cities that do not have these teams. Players travel from throughout the United States to spend a summer with the Tucson Saguaros, and hosts provide them with support and a much-needed family atmosphere. This is also a unique opportunity to receive a close, inside look at the trials and tribulations that players go through while chasing their dreams. The baseball season will end early to mid August, depending on the playoffs.
For families with young baseball players, this is a unique opportunity for youth athletes to find a mentor in a professional baseball player, and make lifelong friendships.
Players are expected to behave respectfully and conscientiously, serving as a positive role model in their home and the community.
If your family is interested in making a difference in the life of an aspiring ball player and enjoying a fun summer, please learn more about the application processĀ here.
