Bite Magazine continues to celebrate Arizona made products and our culinary community with a new partnership debuting on Friday, May 5 with Phoenix home cook and food blogger Joanie Simon.
The Kitchen Kit is a subscription recipe box that features 3 to 4 Arizona made products with an original recipe from Simon. For the debut Kitchen Kit, customers will receive key ingredients for Simon’s Rustic Polenta Pizza, an original recipe she developed using Hayden Flour Mills polenta, Go Lb. Salt Sel Gris de Guerande sea salt, and AZ Bitters Lab Mas Mole Bitters. Also included is a beautifully printed recipe card. The Kitchen Kit is available for $35 plus shipping.
“Joanie’s creativity and skills as a home cook are the perfect way to showcase Arizona’s local products,” said Bite Magazine publisher Michelle Jacoby. “We’re excited about this chance to share what our state is doing with others.”
“Many of my viewers live outside Arizona or can’t always find the products I use where they live,” said Simon. “Bite and The Kitchen Kit make it easy for them to shop online and replicate my recipes in their own kitchens.”
In addition to the Arizona products, the recipe uses fresh vegetables and perishables that subscribers can purchase at their local grocery store or famers market. From there, Simon walks everyone through the process with the written recipe and an online video.
Simon says her love of Hayden Flour Mill’s polenta inspired her to find a unique way to feature it in a dish. “I had pizza on the brain when pondering the possibilities,” she said.
Simon’s video of the Rustic Polenta Pizza will be available online at joaniesimon.com on Friday, May 5. Subscribers can order The Kitchen Kit at biteboxaz.squarespace.com. The kits will be shipped on June 5.
