Tempe Prep alum excels at NCAA Track Championship

Congratulations to Tempe Prep alum Pau Tonnesen for winning first-team All-American honors at the NCAA Outdoor Track Championship in Eugene, Oregon this weekend. Arizona Wildcat Tonnesen set personal bests in pole vault, javelin, and the 1,500 meter finishing fourth in the competition with an Olympic qualifying mark of 8103 points. Earlier this season, Tonnesen broke University of Arizona’s school record in the men’s heptathlon with a score of 5,972. Tonnesen will be competing for Spain in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
