Mesa Arts Center will host the Tempe Community Chorus on Sunday, May 14th at 4:00pm for a performance of upbeat retro tunes suitable for the whole family.
You’ll be rockin’ and rollin’ with the Tempe Community Chorus in this tribute performance to Dick Clark and American Bandstand. “Dancing in the Street,” “Blue Moon,” “Big Yellow Taxi,” “Yesterday,” and “I’m a Believer” are only a few of the songs that TCC’s 140 voices will cover from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. About Tempe Community Chorus:
Tempe Community Chorus performs all over the Valley, entertaining audiences with choral classics, show tunes, pop, jazz, spirituals, rock, and folk music. Our musical lineup has included pop music by Queen, spirituals written during the Civil War era, Broadway show tunes including Think of Me from Phantom of the Opera, jazz songs including Route 66, rock and roll tunes like Operator, the Hallelujah Chorus by Mendelssohn, and Christmas and Hanukah music during the holiday season.
Tempe Community Chorus singers love to sing, love to work hard, and take pride in performing at our best! We are dedicated to creating entertaining concerts filled with a variety of wonderful music! We value working towards music excellence, and have fun doing it! We are a lively group with varying experience levels, from all walks of life, who come together to create that great chorale sound. TCC has more than 130 members. We also have smaller vocal groups within the Chorus, the Mill Street Singers, and OMG, who sing more challenging pieces, or pieces that require a particular blend of voices.
