
Tandem Duo performs Tues. Sept 20, 10 a.m. on Friends of TCA Performance with a View. Founded by Sarah Off and Dr. Marilyn Clark Silva, the free concert is part of the Kondo Festival celebrating the music of Japanese composer Kohei Kondo.
Mr. Kondo will be present to speak about his music. The free TCA concert is part of the Kondo Festival Sept. 18-23 and is in collaboration with Arizona State University, Tempe Center for the Arts and Phoenix Center for the Arts. Multiple concerts are scheduled.
Performance with a View is a free public outreach series. Future programs: Oct. 18, voice students of ASU Professor Anne Kopta; Nov. 15, viola students of ASU Professor Nancy Buck; Dec. 13, The B1 Duo, ASU faculty Simone Mancuso (percussion) and Garth Paine (live electronics); Jan. 17, 2017, collaborative piano studio, students of ASU Professor Andrew Campbell; Feb. 21, violin students of ASU Professor Danwen Jiang; March 21, 92 Steel & Guts, ASU graduate students Tang Tee Tong (violin) and Wong Yun Qi (piano); and May 16, CONDER/dance performing Tiny Dances.
Doors open at 9:30 for seating and complimentary coffee service in the TCA Lakeside Room. The free one-hour concert begins at 10 a.m. Limited seating.
