A little chocolate never hurt nobody! Those with a sweet tooth are invited to attend the Sweets Con and Desserts Expo at the Peoria Sports Complex on December 17. The event promises a day of delicious, delectable delights at the largest sweets and desserts show in the Southwest United States.

From 10 am to 5 pm, thousands of guests will gather for a fun-filled day including samples, shopping, demos, classes, decorating competitions, appearances by celebrity culinary artists, giveaways and much more. Local businesses will be on hand, offering tasty bites of their sweets and desserts, and for this with dietary restrictions, there will be vegan, raw, diabetic and gluten free options!

The event is open to all ages, and there will be a special Kids Fun Zone for the little ones! While parents treat their taste buds and enjoy the event, children can participate in dessert making, face painting, photo booth, games and more! Rumor has it the Candy Fairies will be making an appearance, bringing with them lots of goodies and surprises!

Just in time for the holidays, guests can learn about new baking techniques and decorating ideas while stocking up on supplies, ingredients, and gifts. There is also a VIP ticket option, the Candy Land Soiree, that includes a special VIP Lunch, photo opportunities, guest meet and greet and more!

Proceeds from the event benefit Toys for Tots and St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance during the busy holiday season. Guests are encouraged to bring a new and unopened to donate to Toys for Tots, and by doing so they will receive a raffle ticket to one of many exclusive drawings for prizes including gift cards and vacations. Guests can also bring unopened cans of food to receive tickets for the Grand Prize Giveaway.
