Sweat blood and years spent fearless

Tempe, Arizona

From the first day I had unpacked my boxes and returned my uhaul, I have been marveled by the spectacles the city of Tempe has to hold.
An afternoon on mill avenue will welcome you with lovely shops, friendly smiles, and great food and drink. A night will intoxicate you with crowds of beautiful citizens, colorful street performances, and quite literally, a quaint supply of intoxicants.
How ever, without a doubt in my mind, the music scene within tempe and its neighboring cities is truly unique. I have seen adorable gypsy women covered in glitter and hand painted linen, play a ukulele / banjo while making indistinct animal noises. and it was good. I have seen local rappers neurotically dispose of any issues they have had or had not confronted in recent life, simply by grabbing a microphone, and opening their mouth. and it was good.
Andrew Jackson Jihad is a terrific example. Neurotic, Fun, Unique, Great quality and often great vibes. this is the current sound of Arizona. The sun stroked mutants who nosedive into the life of a musician, letting their worlds melt behind them, and drip off along with their sweaty faces the moment they see the stage they’re about stomp all over. I have never seen someone have so much fun, nor have I ever had as much fun, being apart of the community which is, Tempe’s open mic community.
