Surprise Police Department Celebrates National Volunteer Week
The men and women of the Surprise Police Department are celebrating National Volunteer Week, April 23-29, 2017.

The police department has a large group of individuals who volunteer in many different areas, assisting our agency with a host of different daily tasks and activities. Several volunteers help with victims’ advocacy and crime analysis, while others assist in our Criminal Investigations Division, Field Operations Division, and the Professional Standards Unit. We also have volunteers in our Training Unit and in other specialized areas such as our Chaplin Service and Citizens Patrol.

The volunteers with the Surprise Police Department were awarded the 2015 International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Award for Outstanding Achievement in Law Enforcement Volunteer Programs. The support provided by these men and women ultimately plays a key role in the Department’s mission to maintain a safe community by providing extraordinary law enforcement customer service. Their hard work, dedication and exemplary efforts are inspiring and truly deserving of the 2015 IACP Outstanding Achievement in Law Enforcement Volunteer Programs Award.

During National Volunteer Week, please take a moment to personally thank the many volunteers for all their hard work and dedicated service that ensures the safety of our city.
