Several students in Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, Chandler, Gilbert, even parts of Mesa will be stocked up on school supplies thanks to the Queen Creek Fire Department.
Firefighters in the town collected 15 hundred dollars and used that money to buy supplies including backpacks, pencils, and notebooks, for the Family Resource Center in the Queen Creek Unified School District. The supplies will also go to kids at the Boys and Girls Club of Queen Creek.
“The partnership between the school district, the Boys and Girls Club, and the Queen Creek Fire Department ensures no student goes back to school without the tools they need to succeed,” said Maria Silva, Special Projects Director for Family Resource Center.
This is the second year the Queen Creek Fire and Medical staff collected money to buy school supplies for families in the southeast valley. In the first year, the department collected about $1000.
