Sign Art Museum Coming to Southern Arizona

Tucson is well known for it’s eye-catching neon signs and gorgeous art, and soon, a unique new display will arrive in the area.

Some of the notorious neon signs that decorate 4th Avenue, Congress, Sixth and the south side close to Broadway will soon be up for viewing at a new Sign Art Museum.

It’s all thanks to the hard work and passion of Jude Cook, a local man who has been collecting and restoring signs for decades. Over the years, his collection has grown significantly, so much so that he’s had to move many of his signs to an office. But his number of signs just kept growing, and it wasn’t long before he and his wife became inspired by their visits to neon sign museums across America.

They became motivated to open their own sign art museum right here in southern Arizona. Now their museum, named Ignite, is coming to life. The tentative opening date is October 10, and guests can expect to see familiar signs that have decorated the highways of the Sonoran desert.

If you want to see local logos and landmarks, this will be the place to go. The Cooks also plan to use the museum as an event space for sign-making courses. Stay tuned for more information and updates on the opening of the museum HERE.
