Bisbee book lovers, mark your calendars-the fifth annual Altered Books Show is returning to the Sam Poe Gallery on Saturday, August 27th.
Poe Dismuke and Sam Woolcott, the husband and wife duo who run the gallery and contemporary art space, will be hosting this creative event.
The Sam Poe Gallery is situated on Main Street, making it a perfect location for this unique book show, in which artists from near and far showcase their incredible work, made from discarded books. Guests can expect to see books in various states-artists are allowed to cut, tear, paint, stitch, glue and drill their books as part of their work. These pieces will be featured in a silent auction, benefiting the Copper Queen Library, the oldest public library in Arizona.
