Opening scheduled for December 14
Whitestone REIT announced the return of Safeway to Anthem Marketplace on December 14. The store will re-open at the location it formerly occupied along Anthem Way until its closure in 2015. The company expects to hire about 100 employees for the store.
“Safeway is thrilled to announce its return to the beautiful Anthem community,” said Nancy Keane, Public Affairs and Government Relations for Albertsons Safeway Inc. “We look forward to providing an exceptional shopping experience to every resident of Anthem.”
The new store will feature a full-service Starbucks with modern seating area, designer floral showroom, and an elaborate produce department featuring fresh fruits, vegetables and a vast selection of organic poultry and seafood.
“Safeway grocery stores are known for fresh produce, delicious baked goods and exceptional customer service and we are delighted for their return to Anthem Marketplace,” said Daniel Kovacevic, Whitestone REIT Regional Vice President, Southwest Region.
Anthem Marketplace also welcomes the award-winning Dreaming by Design Landscape’s Christmas Tree Lot, which provides a variety of festive holiday trees until Dec. 25. Families searching for the perfect Christmas tree are sure to find their dream tree amidst the 6,000 trees available in the lot.
Owner Rodrigo “Rod” Placencia, whose landscaping company motto is “If you can dream it, we can build it,” said customers can expect five varieties of premium trees, including Noble Firs, Douglas Firs, Grand Firs and others. Tree size ranges 3-15 feet.
“We’ve sold Christmas trees for 15 years and are pleased to be doing it again at Anthem Marketplace,” Placencia said. “Customers can find a large variety of trees at reasonable prices.”
While at Anthem Marketplace, families have the opportunity to drop in one of the shopping center’s friendly dining spots, including Legends Bar and Grill and Ocho Locos, or perhaps purchase a special gift at Andrew Z Diamonds.
Conveniently located at the southwest corner of Gavilan Peak and Anthem Way, the marketplace services the master planned community of Anthem, New River and Black Canyon City. Retail stores include Safeway, Subway, Andrew Z Diamonds, Leslie’s Pool Supply, Postnet, Verizon and AT&T.
