With the warmer springtime weather comes road repair and construction, and drivers should be aware of next week’s planned maintenance in the Flagstaff area.
After a busy winter season, maintenance crews with the Arizona Department of TransportationĀ are working on pavement repair along Interstates 17 and 40 and State Route 89A.
This upcoming week, crews will be working on I-40 between mileposts 169 and 172 eastbound, about 10 miles east of Williams. They will lay asphalt over existing pavement to smooth rough sections of road and improve conditions for drivers. They will also pursue patch work and overlay projects on State Route 89A in Oak Creek Canyon.
Drivers should be prepared to encounter this road construction this week.
Looking forward to later in this year, ADOT will have two projects along the stretch of I-40 between Flagstaff and Williams, and these will add a new layer of pavement in both directions.
