Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD) has won six awards from the Arizona School Public Relations Association (ASPRA) and was honored at the Superintendents’ Luncheon and ASPRA*tions Awards on April 7, 2017.
Each year, ASPRA recognizes standards of excellence in school public relations through its ASPRA*tions Awards. ASPRA members take time to honor the people and organizations who support public relations efforts in Arizona schools. Awards were judged by the Missouri School Public Relations Association. Queen Creek Unified earned six awards in the following categories for a school district with up to 10,000 students.
The district received a coveted Award of Excellence for their email newsletter, social media and website; all which help bridge communication between parents, guardians and the school district. The Film & TV CTE program at Queen Creek High School earned an Award of Excellence for their work on campus and in the community. In addition, QCUSD Political Action Committee manager, Julie Craig earned an Award of Excellence for Bond Election Communications.
Queen Creek Unified also received ASPRA Awards of Distinction for Excellence in Public Relations and for Excellence with the QCUSD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program. Queen Creek Independent editor, Wendy Miller also received an Award of Distinction for her continued support of the district through positive reports on QCUSD students, staff and programs.
The Arizona School Public Relations Association is a professional organization that provides support for educators involved in school public relations, as well as professional development activities for school public relations specialists.
