Due to popular demand, My Local News now offers an Event Calendar page within each of our community news sites. Whether you’re looking for romantic date night ideas, something fun to do with friends or a place to volunteer your time, your local Event Calendar page is the place to find out what’s happening in your community. It’s also a place where groups and organizations can get an extra boost in publicity for their event.
It’s simple and free: we do not pay for submissions and we post your information on our site free of charge. You provide us with something of value (content) and we provide you with something of value (publicity). We just want to help you get the word out.
Anyone can submit an item for publication on My Local News. Of the many submissions we receive, a large number are articles about upcoming events; everything from the arts, sporting events, live music, seasonal celebrations, fundraisers, festivals, mixers and more. When you submit event information to us for publication, we will post it on our regular local news pages but also to your local Event Calendar page, with maps, ticket links, photos and contact information. So whether a subscriber is scrolling through their local weekly email digest of My Local News stories or searching our site specifically for upcoming events, they’ll have twice the number of opportunities to see and learn more about your special event. We also share the items we publish across all of our social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+.
Look for your local Event Calendar on the top menu bar of your community news site. For instance, if you subscribe to our Tempe News, you’ll find Tempe events listed in your local Event Calendar. If you subscribe to our Tucson News, you’ll find Tucson events listed in your local Event Calendar, and so on.
Thank you for your submissions and thank you for supporting local, community news!
