Property Taxes and 2018 Budget to be Discussed at Public Meetings

With the future in mind, the city of Peoria Council will host several public hearings in the upcoming months to discuss property taxes and the 2018 budget.

On May 16, the council will discuss the Fiscal Year 2018 property tax levy. The council will consider adopting it’s final property tax levy at the June 13 public meeting, and it may be increased over the current levy.

Each of these meetings will be held at 7:00 pm in the City Council Chambers (8401 W. Monroe Street).

City Council will also be considering adjustments to water and wastewater rates and charges currently assessed by the City. If adopted, the adjustments would go into effect on July 1, 2017. In addition, the agenda includes the discussion of proposed updates to Community Services Department fees and charges for Fiscal Year 2018.
