The Prickly Pedal Bike Race has been postponed. The 40-mile race was originally set for this weekend,Saturday, January 21, but it was just announced that the race will be postponed until April 1, 2017.
Heavy rainfall is in the forecast for Thursday and Friday of this week, meaning that riding conditions on the race’s course could be very dangerous and difficult. Therefore, the race was postponed to the later date, and bikers can look forward to a few more months of preparation and practice!
This year’s race will be the second, with the inaugural event taking place last year and garnering a lot of public support. This intense mountain bike race course winds across the northern section of the Maricopa Trail, boasting beautiful views and near-perfect riding conditions. It begins in Cave Creek and finishes at Lake Pleasant in Peoria.
Bikers with the courage and stamina to make their way through the heart of the Sonoran Desert will be treated to beautiful views and a satisfying achievement! Now with a few more months to go, join in the fun, either by biking, volunteering, or sponsoring the event. Find out more on the official website.
