As summer begins, kids and adults alike look for a way to pass the time and beat the heat. This summer, Pioneer Community Park offers residents and visitors of Peoria to join in for some food truck fun.
From 6 to 10 p.m. June 2 the Pioneer Community Park will host the first Food Truck Friday of the summer.
The event will kick off the summer food truck schedule as a part of the Food Truck Friday West event. It’s free admission, but the price of food varies from truck to truck.
In order to help customers cool down, the trucks have moved closer to the park’s splash pad. Additionally, the park will keep the water flowing until 10 p.m.
For the first week, over 15 local food truck favorites such as Queso Good, Burgers Amore, Mingo’s Louisiana Kitchen and several others will be in attendance. After this week, a minimum of eight food trucks are to be expected at the park.
If you don’t want to get wet or risk your food taking a dip at the splash pad, the park also offers a dog park, “barrel train” rides for the kids and a man-made fishing pond. Plus, DJ Elite will play jams all night long.
