Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car in the Bronx

NYPD are investigating a hit and run in the Bronx that left a pedestrian dead.

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, and police say 37-year-old Christopher Nieves of the Bronx was crossing the street, outside of the crosswalk, when he was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Nieves was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police are currently reviewing surveillance video from the scene in their search of the suspect. The vehicle involved in the incident is described as a tan or brown Chevy Tahoe.
