Open Stage Continues Strong and Delightful

Bisbee’s Obscure Productions will present the second Open Stage Night of our Fabulous Fourteenth Season on Friday, October 21, 7:00 p.m. in Central School Project’s Squffy Theater. Founder Rae E. Jones’s fantastic brainchild has already given the community five nights of talent, and this October show promises more and better.

Everyone is encouraged to bring their own particular talent to the Squffy stage to enjoy ten minutes of fame and adulation from the wonderful Bisbee audiences. In the past, BOP Open Stage nights have featured adult poets, teen monologues, scenes, singers, dancers, drag, flamenco, tap, and more. Locals are regulars, but guests from all over have dropped by to play or sing or act.

This month’s evening will feature a teaser scene from BOP’s upcoming play, Murder, Margaret and Me by Phillip Meeks. BOP Founder Rae E. Jones plays the Spinster and C. Gilles-Brown plays Agatha Christie.

In order to pay the evening’s rent, BOP charges patron and player alike a fee of $2.00. If anyone is feeling flush, they can sponsor a performer or two. Snacks and drinks are available for sale to warm up a date night, a group night out or a solo appearance.

Performers must sign up before show time and are encouraged to contact “Obscure” Rae regarding any technical concerns and questions. Please contact her at 520-432-2901 or obscurerae@gmail.com. A note for Mapquest users and some GPS fans: Central School Project is located at 43 Howell Avenue, just around the corner from the Copper Queen Hotel.
