
The Northern Arizona Healthcare Foundation recently awarded $28,000 in healthcare scholarships to local students, just in time for National Nurses’ Week 2017.
In total, the foundation awarded 37 scholarships that will support healthcare employees and graduating high school seniors cover the cost of educational endeavors in the healthcare field.
Scholarship recipients received funding for nursing, clinical and non-clinical degrees. Thirty-five employees of Verde Valley Medical Center and Flagstaff Medical Center received awards, joining five high school students from Camp Verde High School, Flagstaff High School, and Mingus Union High School.
The Kary Christenson Nursing Scholarship was awarded to Arareli Rivera, Ryan Wallace, Natalie Metz, and Emily Kuritz.
Jill Phipps, Richard Ellis, Moriah Kirkman, Collette Thomas-Ruiz, Shannon Ellison, Kellie O’Connor, Tori Rezzonico, and Brian Utz earned the Senior Leadership Team Clinical Scholarship.
Recipients of the Flagstaff Medical Center Clinical Scholarship include Jessie Thibedeau, Theresa Ruzovich, Amy Rae Hardin, Christopher Rodriguez, Lauren McDade, and Suzanna Hale. The Verde Valley Medical Center Clinical Scholarship was presented to Lisa Hill, Celeste Scalf, Donnie Buss, Melanie Falcone, Chandler C. Smith, and Elena Bermudez.
Brett Brawley, Jennifer Carver, Richard Swedbergh, Nicole Bullard, Lori Smithson, Alicia Bigelow, Jordan Allen-Smith and Roberta Coons earned the NAH Foundation Non-Clinical Scholarship.
Graduating high schoolers Hannah Frain, Christian Singleton, Sarah Sexton, Kayla Hackett and Tiauna Day earned the NAH Foundation High School Scholarship.
