If you’re a Thai fan like myself, you probably have spent your time searching for the best take-out/delivery spot in your neighborhood. Well here we have it, folks- Copper Throat takes the cake for the tastiest location in the Lower East Side. Located on Ludlow and Rivington, the restaurant is quite quaint and easy to find with a brass sign hanging from the side. With the restaurant being immaculately clean and having a clear view into the kitchen, I have full faith that the sanitation is up to code in this place. Along with that, but the interior of the space is industrial and simple, making it a good spot for a first date and/or a quick meal out with your friends. The one downside is that they do not have a liquor license yet, but hopefully that will change in the next few months.
In terms of a menu rundown, it is simple and has a variety of options whether you are vegan, vegetarian, or a picky eater. I would recommend the below items with full confidence, and if there isn’t something that tickles your fancy below, then make sure to check out their site for the full menu- trust me, you will not be disappointed!
For Starters, I would recommend the spring rolls! They are super delicious and the perfect snack to tie you over until the main meal and also a very reasonable price ($6). If you’re needing something a little bit on the heavier side, I would recommend the pork dumplings. The meat and dumpling compliment each other and the flavors do not overpower. It is a light, yet filling snack to have before the main course.
In the Mains department- I highly recommend the soups, as all are very flavorful and unique. My personal favorite is the Tom Kha with chicken because there is the perfect amount of coconut to broth- not making it too sweet. Another one of my soup favorites is Tom Yum soup with shrimp, a Thai version of hot and sour soup. The broth is not too tangy and there are a lot of vegetables mixed in. For noodles, I either order the Pad Thai with chicken or the Pad See Eiw depending on how hungry I am and the noodle preference as both dishes are very appetizing and delicious!
Copper Throat is a great spot whether you are dining in, taking out or getting delivery so don’t miss out!
