The Queen Creek Unified School District is proud to offer a variety of new classes and programs at Queen Creek High School. Starting in the 2017-2018 school year, high school students will now be able to enroll in Mandarin Chinese, American Sign Language, Full Stack Web Development, and a variety of other courses outlined below.
Queen Creek High School Principal Paul Gagnon stated, “Our goal at Queen Creek High School is to provide a rigorous and relevant education for all of our students. Through the support of our Governing Board and District administration, we are adding classes that help us accomplish this goal in several different academic areas”.
The Mandarin 1 and American Sign Language courses were added as a result of a student survey done in the fall. The Full Stack Web Development program was added as a way to better prepare Queen Creek students today for the digital jobs of tomorrow.
“We will continue to look for innovative opportunities like our partnership with Full Stack Coder Camps to provide our students with an innovative education that prepares them with the skills and knowledge to be successful in whatever arena they choose,” stated Principal Gagnon.
The QCUSD Governing Board also approved the addition of AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, and Biology 100, which is a dual enrollment course. In addition, QCUSD will be adding Medical Professions through the Queen Creek High School CTE department, which will afford students an opportunity to earn a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) certificate through the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
“QCUSD understands the importance of ensuring students are career ready. We are proud to offer courses where students can earn certifications that make them instantly employable,” said QCUSD Superintendent Dr. Perry Berry.
