Mountain Vista Medical Center Holds Free Women’s Seminar

Caregiver. Chauffeur. Event planner. Short-order cook. Women wear many hats, often putting themselves and their health needs on the back burner. To keep the epicenter of the modern family healthy and strong, Mountain Vista Medical Center is holding a free Women’s Health Forum, designed to encourage women to take pause and stay healthy at every age.

From 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 5, attendees will have the opportunity to ask panel members (representing obstetrics, gynecology, podiatry and family medicine) questions about women’s health and wellness issues. They will discuss a range of health topics most important to women, which includes but is not limited to:
• The recommended women’s health screenings for all stages of life;
• Common foot issues that women experience; and
• How to stay healthy, from menstruation through menopause and beyond.

A complimentary brunch will be included.

Why:
Women are often busy caring for others that they neglect their own health. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, the women in Arizona suffer from these five most common ailments:
• 31.1 percent suffer from high cholesterol;
• 27.8 percent (age 20+) are overweight;
• 26.9 percent (age 20+) are obese;
• 26.9 percent suffer from hypertension; and
• 26.3 percent experience arthritis.
