
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is sharing updates on the scary shooting spree that has claimed the lives of six people across the valley.
56-year-old Dwight Jones has been identified as the murderer, and he took his own life in his room at the Extended Stay America in Scottsdale as officers closed in on him in the early morning hours of Monday.
A husband and wife were found dead at their home in Fountain Hills, bringing the death toll to six. 72-year-old Byron Thomas and 70-year-old Mary Simmons were discovered shot to death in their residence.
On Thursday, May 31, Jones killed well-known forensic psychiatrists Dr. Steven Pitt before ambushing Laura Anderson and Veleria Sharp on Friday at a law office in Scottsdale. Dr. Marshall Levine was killed on Saturday.
