Downtown Phoenix will be a busy place this Earth Day.
On Saturday, April 22, celebrate science and sustainability at the official March for Science in downtown Phoenix. The event coordinates with the main march in Washington D.C. and sister marches planned in cities across the globe.
Participants should meet at 10 a.m. for the kickoff rally at Cesar Chavez Memorial Plaza at Historic City Hall (125 W. Washington Street). The proper march will begin at 11 a.m. and follow a route that takes people down Jefferson Street to 5th Street, up to Washington Street and then back to 1st Street. A Science Fair and public speakers will follow through 4 p.m. and the public is encouraged to come out and educate themselves on environmental and science concerns! There will be food trucks on hand, and water and toilet facilities will be available on-site.
