Man Arrested at Scottsdale Nightclub For Credit Card Theft

A 28-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stealing credit cards from clubgoers in Scottsdale.

Mohamed Abdiqadir Abdi was taken into custody on June 4 after Scottsdale Police were called to Riot House, a club in Old Town Scottsdale. He was apparently seen swiping credit cards from a woman’s purse. She reported it to two security guards at the club, who flagged down two off-duty deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office who then contacted police.

Scottsdale police reportedly discovered credit cards belonging to the woman in Abdi’s wallet. Police also say there were multiple debit and credit cards belonging to other people inside the suspect’s car. Officials are in the process of notifying other possible victims.

Abdi is a Somalian citizen here in the U.S. on a student visa. He has been charged with five counts of theft.
