|Please describe your business.||Meet Chef Mensur Duzic, owner of Duza’s Kitchen in the Coronado District. He’s hard at work on the corner of 12th and Oak Tuesday through Sunday serving breakfast, brunch, and lunch with a fresh twist. Duzic selects local ingredients whenever possible and has partnered with local roaster Espresso Italia to make you the perfect cup. He also offers vegetarian and gluten-free fare. Keep Duza’s Kitchen in mind for your next special event; in addition to regular hours at the restaurant they do catering.|
|What was your inspiration in starting your business?||Duzic is a German-trained chef originally from Yugoslavia. He was a restaurant owner in Germany when he came to Arizona on holiday more than two decades ago. He fell in love with the place and decided to start a new life in America. Duzic worked in some of Arizona’s most prominent kitchens, and ultimately became executive chef at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Now he has come full circle and is back to creating food for his neighbors in his own restaurant.|
|What has been your hardest business challenge?||There have been a couple of cycles that has been “game changers” in my career. What gets me through is having passion in what I do! As they say your smile is your logo! To pass this energy to my team and be successful enough that they also deliver my vision to our customer creates a huge value!|
|Do you have a signature product or service? If so please tell us about it.||We are open Tue – Thursday from 6am to 1pm and Friday – Sunday 6am to 2pm. I have created a breakfast and lunch menu that you can choice from anytime. I also create a special of the day that is posted on our FB page. Our number one seller is the Shepherd’s Biscuit. I make a buttery flaky house made biscuit with cheese, apple-wood smoked bacon, smoked brisket and Italian sausage. I added avocado, creamy ricotta and you can choice your egg style.|
|Is there anything else you would like potential customers to know about your business?||Our main entrance is off of 12th Street and everything starts at the counter. You will find menus that you can take a few minutes to review, order at the counter and then select your table you woudl like (inside or patio seating). One of our team members will bring your order to your table. Its a unique twist of counter/table service that works for our space.|
