Lifeguarding can make for a great summer job for high school students looking to make some extra bucks while on their break, or for avid swimmers who love to be by the water. In Arizona, people can become lifeguards at the age of 15 or older. Pay for lifeguarding is higher than other part-time jobs, an added bonus for In Scottsdale, city lifeguards can earn $10.98 per hour.
If you are interested, consider signing up for this winter’s StarGuard lifeguard training session that begins Monday, January 23. Classes take place Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturdays for two weeks. Upon successful completion of the class and certification, participants will be eligible to apply for lifeguard jobs with the city of Scottsdale.
