The next two weekends provide opportunities to have your records shredded and help support the work of the Kyrene Family Resource Center.
Saturday, April 22 at Kyrene de los Niños Elementary, located at 1330 E Dava Dr, Tempe, AZ 85283, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the Parent Teacher Association will host a community shred-a-thon in an effort to promote Earth Day. They ask the community to support the Kyrene Family Resource Center by bringing one hygiene item to donate for every box of documents to be shredded. Items can include shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine products, deodorant and lotion. There will be a 50/50 raffle as well as pizza and childcare provided.
Saturday, April 29 at Kyrene Monte Vista Elementary, located at 15221 S Ray Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85048, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. another community shred-a-thon will be hosted by the Kyrene Foundation. The community can bring documents to be securely shredded. The Foundation is requesting that for each box of documents to be shredded that the community donate food items that can include protein (such as canned meat or tuna), peanut butter, pasta, dried beans, rice, spaghetti sauce, macaroni and cheese or Top Ramen noodles. All food will be donated to the Kyrene Family Resource Center to support families in need.
The Kyrene Family Resource Center also invites the community to attend the “Free Home Buying 101” class on Tuesday, April 25 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. If planning to attend, please RSVP to Dina@MMHC-AZ.com.
