Kyrene de la Colina Celebrates 30 Years

Kyrene de la Colina will recognize its 30th anniversary on March 31, 2017 with a school-wide celebration. The community is welcome to attend the event from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m, located at 13612 S. 36th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85044. Current and former staff and students will be in attendance. The school will be presenting a showcase, musical performances, guest speakers and more.

Kyrene de la Colina opened in 1987 and was the eighth school to be built in the district of 25. Today, Principal Kelley Brunner is proud to celebrate her sixth year at Colina, overseeing almost five hundred students. “I love the community atmosphere we have here, and the commitment to doing ‘whatever it takes’ to support student learning.”

The third annual Colina Science Day is also occurring on March 31, 2017. All students spend the day rotating through science learning activities with support from Intel, Arizona State University and other volunteers. Their DISCOVERoom facility, which provides hands-on science opportunities for students, will also be a focus at the event.
