Hot dog diggity dog… get a one dollar hot dog next week!

Wednesday, July 19 is National Hot Dog Day and you can celebrate at Portillo’s  in Tempe or Scottsdale.

In honor of the beloved American tradition, the restaurant will offer a special deal that offers hot dogs for $1!

To get the dollar dog, it’s pretty simple: diners just have to purchase a sandwich, entrée salad, entrée, pasta, or ribs, and then they can order a regular sized hot dog for just $1.

The special deal is available all day at all Portillo’s locations, while supplies last. This does not apply to online orders or catering orders, and chili dogs are not included in the special.

Portillos’s posted the following on their website: “It’s National Hot Dog Day on July 19th! The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (NHDSC) estimates that Americans will eat seven billion hot dogs during the season which runs from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. That’s 818 hot dogs per second and more than a third of the hot dogs eaten per year!”
