
Tuesday’s Hot Coffee Lecture Hosts Gregory McNamee with “The Lore Of Food”
Enjoy a unique perspective into the cultural aspects of food in the July 25 edition of the free Hot Coffee Arts & Culture lecture series.

The author of Moveable Feasts: The History, Science, and Lore of Food, McNamee welcomes all visitors to explore how about how our local food is reflected in the foods we prepare. In addition, learn specifically how the foods of Arizona speak to the many cultures that makes up our state.

Tacos, for example, are a typical delicious treat, presented in Mexican and Mexican American cooking on a popular Arizona plate. Tortillas, cheese, and lettuce from Mexico, the Sahara, and Egypt. Taste onions from Syria and even unique tomatoes from South America.
About the Author: Gregory McNamee is a writer, editor, photographer, and publisher. McNamee is the author of forty books and of more than five thousand articles and other publications. Also, he is the contributing editor to the Encyclopedia Britannica and a research fellow at the Southwest Center of the University of Arizona. In addition, he is a lecturer in the Eller School of Management, also at the University of Arizona.
The Hot Coffee Arts & Culture lecture series is held the last Tuesday of every month. The series began in January and continues throughout October. Lectures begin at 7 pm in Total Wine and light refreshments are served. For more information, visit www.goodyearaz.gov/arts.
