The Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation Launches New Compliance and Risk Management Resource

PHOENIX – The Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation (GPCF) recently launched AZComplianceRiskTalent.com, a new resource dedicated to building awareness related to compliance and risk management careers. The website informs individuals of the opportunities and career pathways in compliance and risk management and provides a forum of resources for employers.

The site is a one-stop shop promoting compliance and risk management professions, featuring pages stocked with information and tools connecting employers to hiring resources and connecting job seekers to education, training, workplace experiences and current job openings.

The site was conceived and built as part of the work of GPCF’s Compliance & Risk Management Workforce Collaborative, which addresses talent shortages in the Greater Phoenix region and implements strategies to align employer needs with education and training provider outcomes.

Industry insiders including Russ Johnson, CEO of Merchants Information Solutions and Compliance & Risk Management Workforce Collaborative co-chair, say increased efforts are crucial to fill these positions, which are not widely known outside of the industry.

“Compliance and Risk Management jobs are some of the most important roles an organization has to fill and yet this fact goes largely unknown outside of the industry, because we have not done the job of raising visibility and awareness,” Johnson said. “Changing that is the goal of the Compliance & Risk Management Workforce Collaborative.”

Kevin Cummings, executive vice president at Lockton Companies and Compliance & Risk Management Workforce Collaborative co-chair, says now is the right time to apply a collaborative approach to marketing this industry and these career opportunities.

“Our industry does a horrible job of marketing itself – If I read our job descriptions, I wouldn’t apply either.  Leaders of our industry have been taking different paths up the same mountain with limited success,” Lockton said. “Rather than our narrowly focusing on our own individual recruiting efforts, imagine the excitement and energy we can create when all of us work together to attract new talent!  The old paradigm is about to shift.”

Data compiled in partnership with the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity show thousands of direct and related positions open right now in Arizona with a median wage of $60,200. JPMorgan Chase, State Farm, Cigna, Charles Schwab, United Healthcare, Banner Health and the State of Arizona are all seeking qualified applicants for open positions.

Whether you’re just graduating, a seasoned professional or an employer looking to hire, AZComplianceRiskTalent.comis designed to connect Arizonans to great career paths few are aware of and help fulfill the GPCF’s mission of filling Arizona’s talent pipeline.
