Tucson’s Comedy Playhouse is always offering a fresh, original source of laughter and entertainment for the community, and this year is no different. This holiday season, bring your family and friends along for a night of fun, fresh humor at A Cactus Christmas.
This performance, which opened at the end of November and will continue through the New Year, is tough to beat, with a clever plot and stellar cast. A revival of a Tucson original by John Vornolt, the show sets the scene in Wishbone, Arizona, an eerie ghost town that features a run-down saloon.
In this abandoned establishment are two desert rats named Alice and Pete, who have declared the building their home. Making the most of their squatter’s rights, the duo make plans to find the Treasure Trove of the Lost Turk.
Before long, a family of well-off East Coast visitors arrive in Wishbone, looking for a tour of ghost towns. Pete drums up an idea to take advantage of the Easterners’ good fortune, but somehow, a legendary ghost keeps getting in the way!
Catch the hilarious show on Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30 to 9:30 pm or Sundays from 3 to 5 pm. If you have family or friends in town visiting, this is a great afternoon or evening activity following the business of the holidays. General Admission is $18 and Seniors and Students are $16.
