
The community is invited to enjoy an afternoon of art and entertainment while supporting Aunt Rita’s Foundation.
On Saturday, April 22, the Scottsdale Gallery District is holding a free event at their main hub at Marshall Square called Art for Aunt Rita’s.
The event kicks off at noon, and guests are invited to stop by and claim their passports to an afternoon walking tour of twenty-five participating local galleries that are donating original artwork for a walking silent auction! Some galleries also donate percentage of sales on specific art pieces. Attendees will have the chance to check out Amery Bohling Fine Art Gallery, Art One Gallery Inc. There will be a health and wellness zone set up at Marshall Square (Main Street and Marshall Way) where guests can take advantage of free HIV testing and cancer screenings. It is sure to be a fun afternoon, with Tito’s Handmade Vodka creating a signature drink for the event that will be served at “pARTy Central” in the courtyard of Marshall Square. BS West will host an after party until 8 pm with specials on Tito’s and El Molino’s Mexican will serve up some delicious food for guests.
This fundraiser will support Aunt Rita’s Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the alleviation and elimination of HIV/AIDS through funding, fundraising, research, and prevention services.
The organization originally began in 1986, when three individuals-Randy Schrock, Gary Mangum and Skip O’Neill, participated in annual bake sales to raise funds to provide relief for those living with, and dying from, AIDS. Over the years, the organization grown significantly, and it has introduced fundraising events that have helped provide more than $1.5 million
to 16 local HIV/AIDS Service Agencies since 2005.
Their events include the AIDS Walk Arizona & 5K and Red Brunch, and RED is the Night. Art for Aunt Rita’s is free to attend and supports the organization’s outreach education.
