Perhaps it’s a new take on the meaning of Independence Day…. Local men’s hair salon Keep It Cut has its doors open on Monday, July 4 and is offering free mullet haircuts.

Rock icons like David Bowie and Paul McCartney first brought the look to pop culture in the 70s, but it wasn’t until the 1990s when the “business in front, party in the back” style really caught on. It’s now considered a truly American haircut. “We think it’s a fitting tribute to ‘Merica on her birthday,” says Keep It Cut owner Jacob Meltzer.

Keep It Cut salons offer unlimited professional cuts, styles and grooming for one monthly membership fee. Packages range from $26 for unlimited cuts only to $46 for cuts, washes and grooming.
