Monsoon month continued Sunday, August 13 as flooding caused the temporary closure of a road in Marana, just northwest of Tucson.
Sandario Road was closed between Avra Valley and Twin Peaks as water flooded the roadway, making it dangerous for drivers and vehicles. According to Sgt. Chriswell Scott, public information officer for the Marana Police Department,Ā one vehicle was stuck in water on Sunday but the driver was able to get out and walk to safety.
Sgt. Scott tweeted out a traffic update Monday, August 14, informing drivers that Sandario Road was reopened.
At this time of year, with heavy rains and unpredictable conditions, drivers should always use caution.
