Flavors of the West Culinary & Music Festival Returns

Year after year, Flavors of the West delivers more of what you want. More food. More music. More friends.. More “Flavors”.

In 2017, Flavors is heading back to its’ “Roots”. The last two festivals were held at Goodyear Ballpark in Goodyear, Arizona. This year, Flavors has decided to move the event back to Litchfield Park, alongside the historic community on Old Litchfield Rd.

On April 8, 2017, the community will experience a good day of fun, food, music, and experiences only available at Flavors of the West. Guests will experience a festival unlike any other – and some of the best “Flavors” of the West Valley.

“Flavors of the West is quickly becoming the West Valley’s premier, signature culinary event,” Flavors Co-Chairman, David Jones, said. “Our 5th Annual Event expects a major increase in attendees from 2016, mostly because of our move back to Litchfield Park,” said Jones about the upcoming event.

Since 2013, Flavors of the West has continued to develop the event into a festival that many enjoy, and expect year after year.

About 3,000 patrons attended the April 2nd event in 2016, a slight increase from 2015. And, the new guests were treated to more than your average food festival – Flavors 2016 shocked the crowd with a Gin Blossoms concert on the Yates Buick GMC Stage. One lucky winner even had the chance to meet the band and get a Fender Guitar autographed by the band!

But the event does so much more than raise awareness for the local West Valley food scene. Each year, Flavors of the West selects a local charity partner to receive our event proceeds. In 2017, the spotlight is on The Honey Foundation, a local charity focused on Kindness.

The Honey Foundation now provides a Kindness Education Program for K-12 Schools. Their programs help students understand the broad importance of Kindness in our World, and how Kindness leads to success in life. So far, THF’s Kindness Education Program has already reduced extreme disciplinary action by over 50% in 2 years.

Flavors of the West 2017 will help The Honey Foundation raise money to support Kindness Education Programs in schools here in Arizona and all across the United States.

At Flavors, guests will enjoy Culinary Samples, Celebrity Chefs, Cooking Demos, Dueling Pianos, Live Bands, Beer Garden, Bars, Treats, and more. In 2017, guests should expect more action, special events, and some new and exciting restaurants to sample.

As an example, The Vic Bar + Kitchen in Verrado is participating this year. Their new West Valley hotspot has been getting some recognition, and they’ll look to really make a splash at this year’s event. Litchfield Park’s Blu Sushi is also back for more. “We are always excited for Flavors of the West, and even more this year with the festival coming back to Litchfield Park,” said Blu Sushi Chef & Owner Richard.

Event details are coming together. Restaurants are lining up their menus. Local bands are putting together their set lists. Chefs are sharpening their knives and guests are already licking their chops to taste the best Flavors of the West has to offer.
