It’s summertime, and that means fishing season is in full swing. Luckily for avid fishers, there are more fishing opportunities opening up in the Prescott Valley area.
Thanks to a joint effort by the Town of Prescott Valley and the Arizona Game and Fish Department, residents and visitors alike will now be able to enjoy more fishing spots in the community.
Two ponds in the Urban Forest Park that make up Yavapai Lakes are now a part of the Game and Fish community fishing program. Located at 8700 E. Lakeshore Dr. in Prescott Valley, this spot is perfect for family fishing.
Other additions to the fishing program include Fain Lake, which has been previously stocked with rainbow trout and will now also have catchable catfish. Back on June 12, 1,000 pounds of catfish were stocked into these lakes.
Game and Fish would like to remind the public that a valid fishing license is required for everyone over the age of 10. It costs only $5 to obtain a youth combo hunt and fishing license for those ages 10 to 17.

We wish you good luck out on the lake!
