Family Continues Search for Missing Colorado Teen
Nathaniel Holmes

A Colorado family is not giving hope that they will find their beloved son.

Seventeen-year-old Nathaniel Holmes has been missing for almost a year now. He never returned home from school in December 2017, and ever since, his family has been heartbroken and searching for answers.

Nathaniel’s father Ben Holmes drives all around Arvada, Colorado and surrounding areas searching for clues in his son’s disappearance. He and his loved ones are refusing to give up, despite the complete lack of clues.

The mystery continues as despite many flyers, inquiries with police officers and visits to homeless centers, there has been no sign of Nathaniel. He was last seen on Dec. 19, after his mother drove him in the morning to Hidden Lake High School in Westminster, CO. He had transferred as a junior to the school recently after falling behind in online classes. He was recorded absent from his second period class.

According to Westminster police, officials believe Nathaniel is a runaway, as there has been nothing to indicate that he was taken against his will or kidnapped. His father insists this cannot be the case, as Nathaniel vanishing would be completely out of character. He had never run away, or even spent the night at friend’s houses. His father says its so troubling because it seems as though his son has fallen off the face of the planet.

Nathaniel has an older sister and younger brother. When he was 8 years old, his parents divorced and his father got full custody of the three siblings. The family was always very close, and even traveled extensively to countries like Mexico, Scotland, the Virgin Islands, Africa and Canada.

Nathaniel was a talented musician who also enjoyed hunting, airplanes and playing videogames like World of Warcraft and hunting. His father said the day before his disappearance was slightly unusual only because he had gotten into some sort of trouble at his new school. His father says he may have fallen in with a bad crowd, because he came home and was obviously under some sort of influence. His father had to work, so Nathaniel stayed with his mother to be supervised.

On his way to school, Nathaniel stopped by his house to pick up a folder he needed for class. His father told him they were going to discuss the incident, and that was the last time he saw him. Nathaniel left his iPad in his bedroom, and seemingly didn’t have much on him at the time of his disappearance.

There is now a $10,000 reward for information about the case of the beloved boy who has been gone for too long.

Anyone with any information on Nathaniel’s whereabouts is urged to call Westminster police at 303-658-4360.
