Bison Made is now Ezra Arthur. The hand-crafted, American leather goods manufacturer is reimagining their brand, and we were thrilled to be blazing a new trail alongside this heritage company.
Ezra Arthur is a family business – run by four honest, hard-working and passionate brothers. The products they make behold the all-American ideals this country was built on – quality over quantity and top-notch materials.Their new logo, website and messaging needed to embody this new direction. Ezra Arthur was a man, the founder’s grandfather, but what the name represents is so much more. The client approached us with a concept – their goods are meant to be the keepsakes you discover rummaging through your grandfather’s top drawer. All this boiled down to one thing – the product. Online, they are placed front and center, complemented by clean, understated design. More than 150 products are displayed in a user-friendly interface that is inviting. Our mobile-first experience is seamless, incorporating all the features of the full desktop site, but optimized for a hand-held screen.
Longevity is central to Ezra Arthur products. They are designed to survive lifetimes, so their new mark needed to evoke a lasting feel. Maintaining brand familiarity, the bison logo mark was kept on, and we designed a monogram as the secondary mark. It does everything we wanted it to. It is austere and unembellished, but sophisticated. It is modern, but looks like it has been around for generations. Monograms can be found throughout history, dating as early as ancient Greek and Roman times and flourishing during the British Colonial period. They are favored for their simplicity and originality.
