Elly’s Brunch & Café Opening in Central Phoenix

Food doesn’t get any fresher, iced coffee doesn’t get any cooler, and the friendly staff welcomes guests 365 days a year at Elly’s Brunch & Café. Named one of “Chicago’s Essential All-Day Breakfast Joints” and renowned for its fresh-squeezed juices & smoothies, plus famously fluffy pancakes and massive menu of made-to-order comfort foods, this family-owned and operated restaurant with 10 locations across Chicagoland is excited to announce the opening of its first-ever Arizona location. Scheduled to open on Monday, May 8 inside Phoenix’s revitalized Uptown Plaza (100 E. Camelback Rd., Suite 166, 602-603-9600) Elly’s Brunch & Cafe will serve up classic American breakfast, brunch and lunch fare, from 6 am to 3 pm daily, 365 days a year.

Most important, says owner and co-founder, Chris Georges, Elly’s Brunch & Café makes guests feel like family thanks to its welcoming Midwestern vibe. “Friendly service and great food make every morning a happy experience at Elly’s. No matter if it’s your first visit, or you’re a Chicago transplant, you’ll feel like a regular here,” Georges says.

Even tastier, Georges says, the entire menu is always available, “meaning you can get a one of our famous Prime Beef Burgers at 6 am, or a Signature Omelet stuffed with local eggs and local veggies at 3 pm.” But that’s just an appetizer of all the from-scratch delights served up here, Georges says. “Almost everything is housemade, down to the marmalade, plus we use locally-baked breads, locally-roasted coffee and locally-grown veggies, because it just tastes better.”

All day long, Elly’s serves up nearly 100 different dishes, including breakfast favorites such as four types of Housemade Brioche French Toast, six savory Skillets & Frittatas, plus a dozen varieties of pancakes and crepes, including Elly’s Specialty Baked Pancakes, or baked-to-order Apple or German pancakes made with extra eggs so they rise in the oven to fluffy, fork-tender perfection. But be sure to save room for Elly’s signature Corned Beef Hash featuring flavorful salt-cured beef made by boutique provider back in Chicago, seasoned and then sizzled to perfection with fresh-grated Idaho potatoes, onion and a touch of butter.

But no breakfast or brunch is complete without a cup or two of Elly’s fresh-brewed premium coffee and Greek-style Espresso and Cappuccino drinks, which are also offered to-go via a walk-up window. Made exclusively with estate-grown, locally-roasted Central American beans “for a very hearty and heady aroma,” Georges says. “We also offer Freddo Espresso and Freddo Cappuccino, which are traditional hot weather drinks from Southern Europe, like a frothy iced latte, but better and very strong, and served with special slow-melting ice because it’s made to be sipped while you chat the day away.”

Come lunchtime (or anytime you want to order it), Elly’s also tempts with dozens of soups, salads, bowls and burgers, including a vegetarian-friendly Falafel Burger. Not to mention, signature sandwiches such as the Reuben or The Cristo, featuring Elly’s corned beef or fall-of-the-bone ham, respectfully, and paired with hand-cut French fries.

Housed inside a cheery, bright white space accented with warm wood tables and earth-toned banquets, and an exhibition-style stainless steel kitchen, Elly’s seats up to 100 guests indoors with an additional 40 on the shaded outdoor patio. Located just across the courtyard from fellow Chicago transplant, Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria, swing by Elly’s Brunch & Café any day after May 8 to experience the friendly staff and irresistible food, and you’ll see why it’s been a Chicago institution since 1997.

Open 6 am to 3 pm daily, Elly’s Brunch & Café* is located at 100 E. Camelback Rd., Suite 166, in Phoenix, AZ 85012. For more information call 602-603-9600 or visit www.ellysrestaurants.com.
